The Dreaded Doctor's Visit

Today Emberlyn had her two-month shots. I've been dreading the appointment all week. But she did absolutely amazing. I tried to time it so she'd be hungry by the time she got her shots over with, because I figured that would help settle her down. Well, it turned out that I didn't time it so well. She was hungry by the time we got there and wailed during the entire examination. It wasn't until we were waiting for the nurse to administer the shots that she fell asleep. So, she woke up to the multiple stabs to her leg. As soon as I picked her up, she calmed down and fell right to sleep. What a day! Emberlyn now weighs 10 lbs. 14 oz., and is 23 inches long! She's in the 90th percentile for her height! We've got a tall one on our hands! The doctor commented on how well she can hold her head up and how great she looks. Yay Emberlyn!

First Birthday Spent With My Pride and Joy

I just celebrated my 24th birthday! It was very bittersweet. It was my first birthday celebration spent with my new little girl! And it was my first birthday apart from Wade. We got to email back and forth throughout the day, which was really nice; he was on duty which means he has a computer to himself! Then he surprised me with a phone call. It was short and sweet, but it meant everything to me. Sometimes just hearing your loved one's voice is everything you need. My family is very supportive and made the day an amazing one. So, THANK YOU! You are all amazing! Thank you friends for the phone calls and birthday wishes!

...and she slept through the whole thing!

Moments Spent With Emberlyn...Priceless!

I can't believe it's been two months since this little one has become a part of our lives! She has been such a blessing and continues to enamor me everyday. Her facial expressions are very vivid now! She smiles and coos and is very proud of it. She is also great at shopping, which is going to make Daddy very proud. She holds her head up and explores the world around her. She's an amazing little girl who has brought so much love and believe it or not, peace, into my life. She's a true blessing. I cannot wait to see what this next month is going to bring us, with all of the little growth spurts, baby's' firsts, and milestones!
