Emmy's First Trick-or-Treating Adventure

And an adventure it was... Emberlyn dressed up as a leopard cat, and has been excited about it all month. When asked what she would be for Halloween, she would reply, "I be cat. Whiskers...(points to her cheeks) Black nose...(poinst to her nose)." After getting her all dressed up and face painted, we wanted to let her see in the mirror. And she gave the funniest face. She wasn't too sure about what we had done to her, but we assured her that she looked just like a cat. Brenner was our little penguin...and a very cute one at that!

Emmy carried her little bag and did very well at asking "Trick-or-Treat?" But we had to let a few houses be our practice run. Of course at the first house, as the lady is giving her candy, Emberlyn says "Open it." And I told her that she had to keep the candy in her bag. Then at the second house she tried to take candy after candy out of the bowl. And I told her that one was polite and we always say thank you very much. So, by the third house she was saying, "Trick or treat? Thank you very much. Bye guys!" It was hilarious. Here are a few pictures of Emberlyn's first trick-or-treating adventure!

Brenner's 2 Months!

Brenner had his 2 month check-up last week. He was 12 lb. 2 oz. and 22 1/4 inches long. What a growing guy! He was in the 50th percentile for height, and 75th for weight. Emmy was always the opposite, 50th for weight, and around the 90th for height! She was 10 lb. 14 oz and 23 inches at 2 months. They're different in so many ways. Emmy was a rather calm baby, and Brenner likes to keep us on our toes. He's still spitting up. It seems to come in spurts. Some days are worse than others. I brought him downstairs the other morning, and he spit up 4 times, 4 BIG times. It was dripping all the way down my neck, down to the bottom of my legs. I think everything in his stomach came out, poor little guy. His fussiness has also slowly been tapering off. He's been smiling a lot, and he's finding his voice. He tries to talk in his pack and play. He has become more aware of his surroundings. He'll try and follow me when he hears my voice. He'll look all around the room until he sees my face. And I've noticed that he's been staring at ceiling fans. It's so neat how he tries to just figure everything out. Oh how we love that sweet little boy.

Happy Birthday Wade

Today is Wade's birthday! We always joke about our birthdays because Wade's is October 27th, mine is November 27th, and we thought we could get our kids to be on the 27th, but it just didn't happen. Emmy was one day early, her bday is September 26th, and Brenner missed it by a day, his is August 28th. It's so funny how it all worked out. But we still managed to get 4 consecutive months!

We celebrated Wade's big day with friends at our local hang-out, Buffalo Beach, this past weekend. We got a babysitter for Emmy and then we took Brenner along. He slept mostly, and I ended up staying out until around 11:30, way past my curfew! But it was great hanging out with friends. I only managed to take a few photos...sorry Wade!

And the stud himself, showing his squadron pride.

These Boots are Made For Walkin'...

I didn't take these pictures at the best time, considering she just had spaghetti. So, please ignore the messy face...

It's Pumpkin Time

We went to the Hunt Club with our friends Jeff, Kitty, and little Gracie. Emmy fell asleep in the car on the way there. When we got her out of the car, needless to say, she wasn't in the best of moods. But she had a fun time, and we still managed to get a few good pictures.
She rode on a pony.

Gracie, Kitty, me and Emmy

Emmy begged to ride on the helicopters, which she called, "airplanes." So, after waiting in line and crying the entire time, it was finally her turn to get on. So, what does she do? She nearly falls asleep on the ride! It was hilarious.

Then it was time to check out the goats...

Then they played in the hay pile... which Emmy loved.

Then we tried to take a family picture. But Brenner was fast asleep in his carseat and it was chilly out, so I decided to let him be cozy. So, I tried to get a picture with Wade and Emmy, but little miss 2 year old had other plans. Well, we tried.

And Mr. Brenner slept like an angel the whole time!

Emmy ran anywhere and everywhere!

She was really excited about the large tractor, so we had to get a picture.

We waited so long to get pumpkins, that there were slim pickings.

So, instead of getting a large pumpkin, we got two small ones...Brenner and Emmy-sized!
