The weather has been good to us since we've been back. It's been in the 60s and 70s, no rain, pure sunshine. Beautiful. We've been having dinner picnics on a beach towel on the driveway. That's right, dinner. Not lunch. I'm not quite sure why. But the kids think it's exciting. Especially Brenner because he likes to walk around from plate to plate grabbing extras or exchanging.
We've also been coloring a beautiful garden of flowers with sidewalk chalk that we have titled, Emberlyn's Garden. Everytime Brenner walked across our rows of colored flowers, Emmy would say, "Oh no, he's walking on my garden!" Then to top it off, the next day Emmy discovered a giant smear of greens, purples, and pinks. It seems this edge of driveway gets soaked by the sprinklers.
Regardless, it is always a good time when we can get out and expend some energy. Emmy has teamed up again with the neighbor kids. And Brenner tries his hardest to keep up.
The dirt hole and Brenner reunite.
And Emmy played with her shadow.
And they played with their friends.
Brenner saw the kids pretend like they were horses, and Brenner did the same. Just look at that happy face.
We said hello to our tiniest neighbor across the street, Tink.
Such a great day. It reminds me that sometimes, we just need to stop and breathe in these moments. Sit, drink it all in and savor. Oh it's good baby. That's right, Brenner, stop and smell those flowers. That I will certainly do...
