Emmy and Brenner like the park. Scratch that. Emmy and Brenner LOVE the park. They are such outdoor people. Anything to do with outside, they are all about it. All I have to say is, "Wanna go outside?" And they start running around like wild scrummaging through the house for their jackets and shoes. They would be outdoors well after the sun goes down if it were up to them.
The allergies are so, so bad in Texas during this time of the year. The cedar is out of control. Just ask my dad. He spent Christmas Eve in the hospital receiving breathing treatments and a shot of epinephrine and steroids along with a prescription for more drugs. Cedar affects some people that bad, but for the rest of us it's an occasional headache, sore throat in the morning, a cough and stuffy nose.
We've limited our outdoor time, but with this wonderful day beckoning me... we had to escape. The weather was beautiful. Spotless, rich blue skies, temperatures in the high 60s... And two kids with more energy than they know what to do with.
Good-bye slides. Thank you for your fun little ride that Brenner oh so enjoys.
Good-bye swings. Thank you for taking my Emmy high into the skies.
Good-bye jungle gym. Thank you for letting us feel like we can touch the tops of the trees.
Good-bye park. It's always fun visiting you. We have to go now. But we'll see you again. Very, very soon.
